Academic Advisor
LOHS academic advising is here to help high school students make informed decisions about their courses, graduation requirements, college and career plans, and opportunities after high school. We work with students throughout their high school experience to help them understand their options, plan ahead, and make choices that support their goals. This page provides students and families with the information and resources they need to navigate high school and prepare for what comes next.
Academic Planning
LOHS Course Catalog
This Course Selection Guide provides information and guidance to students and parents as they select courses, consider graduation requirements, and locate relevant information in planning for enrollment each year.
Dual Credit
Dual Credit gives eligible Lone Oak High School students the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit at the same time through courses offered in partnership with Paris Junior College. Students who meet admission requirements and district eligibility guidelines can begin earning college credit while completing their high school graduation requirements.
Find the Right Support
High school students have access to both academic advising and counseling services, but the two roles serve different needs. If you need help with your academic plans, graduation requirements, college and career planning, or other academic questions, Mrs. Paige Smith, Academic Advisor, is here to help.
If you need support with anxiety, stress, relationships, mental health, coping skills, or other personal concerns, Mrs. Cynthia Smith, Secondary Counselor, is available to help. While Mrs. Smith is based at the middle school, her role as our secondary counselor includes supporting our high school students as well.
If you're still not sure who you need to see, here's a quick guide to help you find the right person.
