LOHS Health Science Students Earn Career-Ready Certifications

Students in Lone Oak High School’s Health Science program are finishing the year strong—with a total of 16 professional certifications earned, preparing them for immediate opportunities in healthcare and beyond.

This year’s certifications include:

  • Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT/A) – 7 students
  • Certified EKG Technician (CET) – 9 students
  • AHA BLS CPR Certification – All participating students

In addition, five students earned all three certifications, an incredible accomplishment that reflects their hard work and commitment.

These certifications are more than just impressive credentials. They give students a competitive edge in the job market and a clear pathway into high-demand healthcare fields. A CPCT/A credential allows students to pursue roles such as Certified Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide, and Patient Care Associate. These positions are in growing demand as hospitals and clinics face healthcare worker shortages.

The CET certification qualifies students to perform cardiovascular testing procedures such as electrocardiograms and stress tests—essential skills in modern patient diagnostics.

With hands-on learning experiences and meaningful certifications in hand, Lone Oak ISD students are building futures filled with opportunity, service, and success. We’re so proud of these Buffaloes and can’t wait to see the impact they’ll make in the world of healthcare.
